Jazz på Kampen: Cycles
The duo Cycles, created in 2019, blends the sounds of the prepared piano (Clément Merienne) and saxophone (Sol Léna--Schroll) into a hypnotic musical conversation. The duo feeds on a multitude of music, mainly jazz but also contemporary music, whether spectral, serial or minimalist, Gamelan or even early music.

The duo Cycles, created in 2019, blends the sounds of the prepared piano (Clément Merienne) and saxophone (Sol Léna--Schroll) into a hypnotic musical conversation. The duo feeds on a multitude of music, mainly jazz but also contemporary music, whether spectral, serial or minimalist, Gamelan or even early music.
In this way, Cycle is defined by a moving journey through forms and timbres where composition and improvisation blend and blur the audience's perception by moving the instrument's sounds away from known territories, in order to create a musical space for the meeting of imaginary worlds.
Cycles has already played in a multitude of venues, including PUNK festival (Kristiansand), Victoria Jazzscene (Oslo), L'Arrosoir (Chalon sur Saône). Clément and Sol are now working on new material and a new album.
