Jazz på Kampen: Sam Newbould Quintet

"A pearl in the jazz catch of the day" (NRC, NL), the Sam Newbould Quintet is an award winning five piece international line-up hailing from the UK, Spain and the Netherlands. Described as “mindblowing, sometimes introverted and intimate and then exuberant again” (SWN Talent Award, NL), their music is unapologetically bold, combining virtuosity with beautiful and raw simplicity. Emerging from the vibrant Amsterdam scene, the quintet won the prestigious Keep an Eye Records in 2019 and have performed on major stages including North Sea Jazz Festival, Love Supreme (UK), BIMHUIS, and the Vortex (UK).

                       

The band are touring Europe supporting the release of their third album ‘Homing’ which came out on ZenneZ Records in June 2024. The lineup features Bernard van Rossum (tenor saxophone), Xavi Torres (piano), Jort Terwijn (bass) and Guy Salamon (drums).
